We permanently absorb our environment - looking,
breathing, eating, staying. And we leave our traces, building,
using, damaging, while consuming our environment. It is possible
to see it as an extension of our collective body.
The city made of bread is a logical consequence of these thoughts
- distorted, malleable and edible. A model of the "Neue Kammern",
guest palace of Frederick II. at Potsdam Sanssouci, was eaten by
300 guests at the opening of "Neue Kunst in den Neuen Kammern!"
in July 2008.
The Berlin-Brandenburg Academy as a model in bread:
Made for the book release of "Visuelle Modelle", edited
by Ingeborg Reichle, Steffen Siegel and Achim Spelten. 200 guests
helped to devour the 40 kg model to the last crumb.
